This is where we'll keep you in touch with what's

new in the Wonderful World of W's

2010

Ever fancied trying something in a similar vein, but different to the W650? Why not try a Royal Enfield. These can be hired very reasonably from A7 Motorcycles in Langholm on the Scottish Borders. You could even, as Dick did recently, combine it with a short stay at Border House, which is almost opposite the bike shop (see the 'Places' page for details).

Kawasaki will be releasing the last lot of W's next month.
Basically they are 2008 models with a new and interesting paint scheme.
White tank with a tan seat, and "Majestic metallic red tank, with matching
side panels.

That's sad news indeed. However, be assured, we will keep this site running for as long as there is demand for it

A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OUR VISITORS, AND WISHING YOU SAFE RIDING IN 2009!

Australian firm Deus Ex Machina have an interesting pair of Kawasaki W650s which have been given subtle make-overs as part of a growing trend for flat-track inspired retros.

They each have a host of custom parts, and are the latest work of Australian custom firm Deus Ex Machina, which has carved out a reputation for giving modern Japanese bikes a classic twist.

The blue and red bike costs A$19000 - roughly £8531 - and the orange bike A$18500 (£8131).

also, this month, comes news of a Clubman W740R version from LSL in Germany. in mainland Europe the W650 was a big seller and because of this there is a demand for aftermarket accessories. One such German company which produces quality aftermarket parts for the W650 is LSL.

LSL's working showcase for all things W650 is the LSL Kawasaki Clubman W740R, a big-bored W650 special.

Well, we've got one or two minor issues that need addressing. Thanks to all those who've helped with constructive criticism - especially Cap'n Jake. There's a small issue with the photo gallery loading which I've still to get my head around. But what we've found is, if the gallery book doesn't start loading immediately, go to another page and then back to the gallery page and it seems to work. Don't know why yet.

Also, I'm indebted to Hugh Jaegar, who has given us some corrected information on the history of the Meguro bikes which preceded the W650. I'll update the History page with this soon.

Oh, and in case you haven't discovered it yet, on both the forum and guest book pages, you need to click on 'Regular View' to read the messages.

Ah well, back to the grindstone.........................
